This is my latest geometric painting. Though I’ve been painting mostly free style abstracts lately, I always come back to geometrics. I guess if I had to put it into words, I love the challenge that it brings in the way of structured detail. If one shape is off, the painting as a whole will be off. The architectural balance demands the eye to travel unrestrictedly throughout even though it has defined hard edges in an organized way.
The floating frame showcases this piece in a sophisticated way allowing the details of the continuous pattern of the painting to be seen. This frame was handmade by Kurt Wedgley.
There it is, minimalism in a complicated way.
