Sharon came into my life in the 1970’s when she married my Dad. It was so easy to welcome her into our family. If there is one thing that I have learned over the years, you do not have to be born into a family to be family. Sharon is vivacious, warm and bubbly. She just makes you feel happy to be alive. I will always be grateful for the love she gave my father. Her devotion saw him through some difficult times with his illness later in life. Sharon, daughter of Hazel, step-mother to Allen, Victoria and Mette, Grandmother to Tara and Dawn. For this painting I used refreshing colors, cool gray and hues of corals. Sharon, you have made a difference in my life. We love you Auntie Grandma.
About this Collection
This is one of many small oil paintings in my series titled ‘Women’. They each represent family, friends and other women who bring inspiration in our daily lives. This project started out as a study for future color palettes for my larger paintings and emerged as little gems. At first when it came time to name each piece, I realized that each had their own personalities and reminded me of individuals that have touched my life in some way.
