Daisy became my Grandmother when my mother married Marta Lisa’s and Kimberly’s Dad. She was welcoming to her new family members and she made me feel special as if I was her own. If you were in the mood for Jello, just go visit Grandma Daisy. This was her daily staple. When I think of her, I remember her bubbly soft-spoken personality. She always wore beautiful tweed plaid wool skirts and tidy button down coordinated sweaters. This was her signature, her style, smart and well put together. I choose white and soft pastel colors for Daisy’s palette, it reminds me of her pearl necklace. I miss you Grandma Daisy.
About this Collection
This is one of many small oil paintings in my series titled ‘Women’. They each represent family, friends and other women who bring inspiration in our daily lives. This project started out as a study for future color palettes for my larger paintings and emerged as little gems. At first when it came time to name each piece, I realized that each had their own personalities and reminded me of individuals that have touched my life in some way.
