Linda is my cousin, daughter to Marion. We lost our beautiful girl when she was very young. When this tragedy happened to our family I don’t think I have ever cried so hard in my life. She was so warm and giving. It is hard imagine that it has been nearly 46 years since this happened to our family and my emotions still run deep upon writing this. This painting is to celebrate the life of my beautiful cousin Linda. I choose the streak of pink because when I came to visit, she would paint my fingernails. I miss you precious Linda.
About this Collection
This is one of many small oil paintings in my series titled ‘Women’. They each represent family, friends and other women who bring inspiration in our daily lives. This project started out as a study for future color palettes for my larger paintings and emerged as little gems. At first when it came time to name each piece, I realized that each had their own personalities and reminded me of individuals that have touched my life in some way.
