Commissioned Gouache 2013

'Prussian Blue Commission' Gouache 22"x30"

‘Prussian Blue Commission’ Gouache 22″x30″ by Victoria Kloch

Painted on smooth Arches Hot Press with one color of gouache  to create a movement that only this kind of paper can provide. My signature was incorporated into the design so this painting could be hung in every direction.

  1. From the side it looks like a waterfall. 🙂
Did you know prussian blue was originally discovered by accident in 1704 and is often considered the first pigment of the modern age? Also the pigment is toxic to swallow if you have too much at once, but up to 10 grams per day is safe for an adult male without serious harm and it can be used as a medicine if you’re ever poisoned by certain heavy metals like caesium and thallium.

Well, what do you think?
